This year I tried to read a couple more books than last year, but I didn’t succeed. Although it is difficult to maintain good reading, between so much work and other activities, I have been able to read some books that have taught me some lessons.

I leave here a list of the books I have read this year and some of the lessons I have been able to learn from each of them.

Mathematics is an exact science and not everything can go wrong, right? Well no. In this book, the author tells us about his experiences with mathematics and how, sometimes, things do not turn out as one expects.
In this book, Seneca collects the elementary principles of Stoicism, a philosophy that is based on the acceptance of life as it is, on the search for happiness and on the acceptance of difficulties as part of life.
A thriller with a touch of science fiction and history. It brought back many memories of when I was able to walk the camps of Auschwitz and Birkenau.
Help doesn't always come from where you expect. A story about a young man who suffers from "Alexithymia", a condition that prevents him from recognizing and identifying emotions.
It brings some useful tools to improve the organization of the mind in a new world where we are surrounded by information at every corner. The ones I liked the most: taking naps, getting lost in thoughts, categorizing items, reading email only three times a day, etc.
Achieving a habit is easier than it seems. This book shows us how to do it. What I liked the most was the "Habits of the mind" section where it talks about how the mind works and how we can use it to create habits.
Written by a psychiatrist, Holocaust survivor. The book tells us about how it is necessary to find a why in order to later find a how. Highly recommended book.
"The problem, Paulinus, is not that we have a short life, but that we waste it. Life is long, if we know how to take advantage of it." Book that tells us about the importance of living in the present and the need to take advantage of time... or rather: to live it.
It helps understand why some countries are richer than others. The book tells us about the importance of institutions and the need to have a strong State in order to have a prosperous country.
Book that tells us about the importance of psychology in finance. It tells us about the need to have an investor mentality and the importance of having a long-term vision, of thinking about the future and not the present. To not let our emotions control our pocketbook.
